We are excited to share that River Region Early Education has secured funding through the NSW Government's Murray–Darling Basin Sustainable Communities Program for the proposed Perrin Park Childcare Centre.
Delivered in partnership with Edward River Council, the project represents a significant step towards addressing the shortage of childcare places in Deniliquin and supporting the future growth of our community.
Once completed, the new 110-place early learning and childcare centre will provide much-needed access to education and care, particularly for children aged 0–3 years, where demand is greatest.
Access to quality early childhood education benefits children throughout their lives. Research shows that children who participate in high-quality early learning experience improved educational, social and developmental outcomes, creating a strong foundation for future learning, wellbeing and success.
The Perrin Park Childcare Centre is about more than creating additional childcare places. It is about giving children the best possible start in life, supporting families to participate in the workforce, and helping our community grow.
This milestone has only been possible through the support of many partners and advocates.
We are incredibly grateful to Origin Energy for its substantial commitment towards the capital costs of the project. Without this support, the project would not have progressed to the stage where it could successfully secure government funding.
We also thank Someva Energy, Pottinger Park for providing seed funding to support the Development Application process, helping move the project from concept towards delivery.
Our sincere thanks go to Edward River Council for its partnership and advocacy, to Helen Dalton for her support of the project, and to Katrina Tehan from Tendright for preparing the successful funding application.
While there is still work to do before construction begins, this funding brings us one step closer to delivering a project that will benefit local children, families and the wider community for decades to come.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
