River Region Early Education is legally structured as a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee and is approved to provide early childhood education and care (ECEC) services under Education and Care Services National Law.

The RREE Board is elected by financial members of the organisation and collectively ensures the delivery of the organisation’s objects, the setting of its strategic direction, and the upholding of its values. The Board is collectively responsible and accountable for ensuring and monitoring that the organisation is performing well, is solvent, and is complying with all its legal, financial, and ethical obligations.

The RREE Board abides by the rules related to corporate governance, business activities, and rights and obligations of its internal members as defined and agreed to in the Constitution of River Region Early Education Limited.

Expectations:

• Board members must provide evidence of management capability. (Evidence can include a resume or part of a resume that shows the roles (including duties) that demonstrate management capability, or a qualification/certification with transcripts if available.

• Board members must complete applications to ACECQA for provider approval, NSW Office of Children’s Guardian- working with children check, and a declaration of fitness and propriety.

• Board members are required to complete Criminal History Check, ASIC name search check and National Personal Insolvency Index check.

River Region Early Education pays for the completion of these checks

• Board Members must have an ASIC director ID.

The Board make themselves available for monthly meetings which are held via electronic and in-person mode at a mutually convenient time for Board members.

Board members agree to disclose any conflict of interest between their own affairs and the affairs of the Company and not use their position or information for a dishonest purpose.
